This day is the birthday of the country's first Vice President and great educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a teacher. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a conductor of Indian culture, an eminent educationist and a great philosopher. Born on 5 September 1888 in Tirumani, a small village in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel Prize 27 times. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. He had expressed his desire to his students to celebrate the birthday as Teacher's Day, so this day is celebrated as Teacher's Day in India.
Teachers make our society. That's where our guides are. The position of a teacher is higher than that of a parent. Parents give birth to a child, but the teacher prepares the foundation for a bright future by shaping his character. That's why no matter how big we go, we should never forget our teachers.
Believe me, we will remember the things taught by teachers at every difficult and good turn of life. Like a potter gives direction to an earthen pot, in the same way teachers shape our lives.
